Discussion:
Kishore Ji: Knowledge is not a problem; practical training is needed and for that experts should visit farmers and guide them.
Dr. Pankaj – For official visit, Director needs to approve the visit, Generally Director will approve it. Privately, I am willing to any farmer. I visit Hilsa [my village] at least every other weekend.
Prem Sinha – My role is to help farmers with adoption of govt programs. Issue is Kisans just want the subsidy and not actually buy the equipment.
Sujeet: Organic kit-nasak
Dr. Pankaj: Please send me photo and I will guide you. Many spurious items in the name of organic is being sold in the market. Please use LARGE shops since they can evaluate the product before selling a product.

Bihar Govt Programs:
Equipment
- 80% subsidy on equipment
- 50% on some equipment, varies as per caste.
- 75 items are there.
- Prem will provide list thru Pankaj
- Farmers will register with PM Kisan … 3 types of verification
Crop – Seed: 50 to 90% subsidy, beej is provided. Farmers don’t trust these seed and timing is not right. Govt provides late.
Is there a coordinator in every block, Answer: Yes, every block has a co-ordinator. A farmer can connect directly with this person.
Many other programs by Bihar Govt.
What other help to sell harvested: For Dhan, Govt provides through Pax
Start own company to sell produce – strengthen marketing muscle
Start Seed Fund Organization
Create a WhatsApp group with all these people to share information and help each other – including export.
Farming should be made as a business.
Start a FPO
Mithilesh Ji: only a few farmers are successful in selling their produce at fair value. We will need an org to get the benefits from Govt. Some are very successful e.g. Ganga … dairy producing. Main issue is marketing. Fill-in the gaps.
Manish Chand: OFA – (a) Knowledge sharing needs persistent contact (b) Started Seed Bank e.g. take 10gm seeds and return 20gm and use rest; also selling organic seeds at very high rate e.g. Okra Seeds/ Lal Bhindi (c) Branding . Have a WhatsApp group – share photos, and other issues, great for solving each-other’s problems. (d) Marketing – e.g. we can sell beej but not many farmers producing it.
Decisions:
- Create a WhatsApp group with key individuals to exchange ideas and have Q&As.
- Hold regular meeting with the key group every two months.
- Next meeting scheduled on Saturday - Jun 5th.
