Vaanprasth: A time to reflect on one’s own life and prepare to give back. A vaanprasth person is one, who has mostly fulfilled duties towards his immediate family. By this age, most human being has a “strong sense of give- back”. This platform aims to provide a way for vaanprasthi to give-back in whatever way they can and for beneficiaries to take advantage of that.
Roles on the platform: There are 3 main roles on this platform:
- Volunteer [vaanprasthi] can create a session with sufficient details and deliver the session with honesty. A few example sessions: (a) conduct maths class for XIth grade in Hindi Medium from Jul 01, 2020 to May 31, 2021 every Monday and Friday from 5 to 6 PM; (b) Will work 2 hours every Tuesday and Thursday, generally helping beneficiary with shopping; (c) Will conduct a 2 hour session on Aug 11th 2020 on “how-to go to USA” for skilled professionals.
- Beneficiary: One who can utilize services of a volunteer to improve his/ her skill, career prospect, business, life situation or just general knowledge.
- Manager: One who helps the platform in registering volunteers, beneficiaries, making arrangements, coordinating sessions etc.
The platform aims to ensure that services by all volunteers and managers are free in all respect. It is not to be used as advertising platform by existing businesses and/or consultants.
Pincode is mandatory for each profile and for those who would conduct remote/ online sessions, the pincode will be 999,999. This enables organization of in-person services in a limited geographical area.
Highest moral standard is expected of all participants.
Some Definitions and Examples:
- Knowledge Session or Simply Session: All offerings by a vaanprasthi/ volunteer are in terms of Knowledge session. A vaanprasthi creates a session/ topic on the website and a beneficiary registers for the session/ topic. Anyone can comments on a session.
- Request: A beneficiary can create a request for a service for which a vaanprasthi can create a session to fulfill it.
- Examples of Knowledge Session:
